What is sound?

SOUND is a non-profit focused on environmentally sustainable and socially responsible practices for clothing and textiles. Our evaluation system and logo make it easy for shoppers to identify products they can feel good about buying.

It's a simple idea, but a complex problem to solve. In this global economy, your T-shirt can spend nine months traveling from cotton seed to store, through as many as five countries, seven facilities, and countless hands, large and small.

Why now?

Put simply, the time is right, and the world needs this.

Resources are more scarce every day. Working conditions and standards around the world vary dramatically. In an age where information travels at the speed of light, we as consumers still know far too little about who made our clothes and what may have been compromised to get them to market.

SOUND has the experience and commitment to take on the challenge. But we can't do it alone. Your participation is critical -- your creativity, enthusiasm, and willingness to believe in a brighter future.

We are excited to be embarking on this journey with you.
